UASCS Celebrates Charter Renewal and School Expansion

On Thursday, March 22, 2018, Utica Academy of Science Charter School (UASCS) celebrated its 5th anniversary and the renewal of its charter. Invited guests included teachers, staff, parents and Board of Trustee members, as well as community members and leaders. In addition to renewal of its charter, UASCS has received approval to expand its range of grades to include elementary education. The special celebration provided an opportunity to acknowledge appreciation of five-year veterans of the school. And in recognition of outstanding contributions made to the Utica community, Mrs. Harvey and Mr. Marken were presented awards. A movie highlighting the first five years of UASCS was shown during the event, bringing memories—and in some case tears—to current and former members of the community.
