President & CEO at WCNY Robert Daino visited UAS High School

On Friday, February 9th, 2018, President & CEO at WCNY Robert Daino visited Utica Academy of Science high school. Mr. Daino has been President and CEO of Central New York’s public broadcasting company, WCNY Public Media, since 2005.

Mr. Daino opened an Education Center as part of the company’s new facility that hosts a unique model for experiential learning, the Enterprise America program. Enterprise America provides middle school students an immersive learning experience focused on STEM (science, technology, education and math) skills, entrepreneurship and financial and civic literacy. It’s the first of its kind in New York State and has the potential to reach 700,000 students within a 2-hour radius of Syracuse. Entered a partnership with OCM-BOCES and Onondaga Community College to launch an innovative co-curricular program for high school students. Students who graduate from the two-year program will earn a Regents diploma with technical certifications, 18 college credits, and have invaluable practical experience in all aspects of working in a multi-media broadcast environment.
