Monday, February 6th, 2023: In honor of National School Counseling Week, we’re recognizing all of our wonderful school counselors. They play a vital role in our student's lives in and out of the classroom! Thank you for all you continue to do for our students and their families. If you see a school counselor this week, make sure to thank them for their service.

Monday, December 5th, 2022: Plant-based meal options are un-BEET-able! Veg Out, a new program from our partner Chartwells K12, is coming to the Utica Academy of Science High School cafeteria and highlights the wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options available on the lunch menu. Join us December 5th through December 22nd as we introduce Veg Out, featuring flavorful, creative, and delicious plant-forward meals, including Tomato Mozzarella Paninis, Roasted Italian Veggie Wraps, Southwestern Quinoa Bowls, Hummus and Feta Wraps, and more!

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022: Gobble gobble! As a friendly reminder, there will be no school Wednesday, November 23rd through Friday, November 25th to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday! Classes will resume on Monday, November 28th.

School is closed today in observance of Veterans Day. Veterans Day is a federal holiday honoring military veterans in the United States. 

If you know a loved one who served in the military, say a special thank you to them today!

Utica Academy of Science Elementary School Picture Day is coming up on Friday, October 14th. Parents, don’t forget to place your orders! 

We have some exciting news! Drumroll, please… Utica Academy of Science Elementary School now has a band program! Our Atoms are very excited to be part of it and are ready to learn and perform for upcoming special events.

We want to give a huge shoutout to Ms. Parr who is working tirelessly to make this band program happen. Also, a special thanks to parents for the support and for providing everything needed to help get students to join the program.

Friday, September 16th, 2022: Hola! National Hispanic Heritage Month began yesterday. It’s celebrated annually in the United States from September 15 to October 15 to recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history and culture that shape the U.S. today. Did you know the observations started in 1968 under President Lyndon Johnson, but it wasn’t enacted into law until 1988? Each year focuses on a different theme, and this year it’s “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation.”
