Holiday Cheer Sent to those Near and Dear

Utica Academy of Science high school Atoms join together virtually to write and design holiday cards that would be sent to the residents of the Masonic Care Community.Tuesday, December 15th, 2020This year has been challenging for most, especially for the elderly in the community. With guest and visitor restrictions in place throughout the state, seeing a friendly smiling face whether a student, family member or friend has been hard to come by. In efforts to rectify this, the Utica Academy of Science High School Atoms were busy at work brainstorming ideas on how they can make this better. The best way to spread a little holiday cheer, is by writing cards to those near and dear. Led by Mrs. Swancott, the High School Atoms join together on Zoom to write and design holiday cards to send to the residents of the Masonic Care Community in hopes of bringing happiness, joy and some friendly holiday cheer. Great job, Atoms!

Guess Who’s Back this year from the North Pole?

Utica Academy of Science middle school Atoms welcome back Ms. Adams’ Sebastian the Elf. Sebastian comes from the North Pole and visits the students during the month of December.

Tuesday, December 1st, 2020The month of December is a magical time for the Utica Academy of Science middle school Atoms. It is during this month that a favorite friend pays a visit from the North Pole to see how the students are doing. This friend is Sebastian the Elf! But before we get ahead of ourselves and dive in on the crazy adventures he has already had this month, let’s meet him first!

Sebastian came to Ms. Adams' Health Class in 2018, and from the beginning he was pretty adventurous and kept the students on their toes. The following year, he stepped out of his comfort zone and baked what he thought were delicious holiday cookies ... but turns out he wasn't much of a master chef or culinary genius. Sebastian was embarrassed by his cooking mishap and went away; however with a little bit of magic and the help of some awesome students, we are excited to share that Sebastian is back and gracing the halls with his presence or presents??? We'll just have to wait and find out. Click here to stay up to date with the many adventures of Sebastian and the Utica Academy of Science middle school Atoms.
