Friday, September 27, 2019—First grade Atoms embark on a field trip to one of their favorite locations, Fort Rickey Discovery Zoo. A day filled with hands-on experiences with animals from all over the world. Students not only were able to cuddle with the African Pygmy Goats (one of their favorites) but fed some deer, and even wore a snake around their shoulders! Atoms Stomp Out Bullying the #BlueUp Campaign

Middle School Atoms participate in the National Campaign, #BlueUp in efforts to Stomp Out Bullying and cyberbullying

Monday, October 7, 2019—October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness month. Middle School Atoms have teamed up to help Stomp Out Bullying and cyberbullying by participating in the national campaign, #BlueUp. On Monday, October 7th, Atoms will be permitted to wear a blue shirt to kick-off the campaign. In exchange for dressing down, students must commit to a weekly bullying awareness challenge, please see below. Together we can Stomp Out Bullying

Atoms Discover Animal Greatness at Fort Rickey

Kindergarten Atoms visit Fort Rickey Discovery Zoo on the first field trip of the school year

Wednesday, September 25, 2019—Kindergarten Atoms kick-off the first field trip of the school year by visiting Fort Rickey Discovery Zoo. A day filled with exotic and domestic animals, students were able to feed, pet and hold baby goats (a class favorite). To view the Discovery Zoo in its entirety, Atoms took a hayride to view animals such as buffaloes, emus, and ring-tailed lemurs. Thursday, September 26, 2019—When it's an early dismissal day, many will take the afternoon to relax, run errands, spend time loved ones. These elementary school Atoms have a different idea in mind. They are going to "take their horse to the Old Town Road." Okay, so maybe not that … but they sure are going to sing about it! Atoms sing their favorite song, Old Town Road by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus. Great job Atoms.

Saturday, September 21, 2019—The elementary and high school team up together to host a Welcome Back BBQ, to not only conclude the Homecoming festivities, but to celebrate new beginnings such as the start of a successful school year. From bounce houses, to face painting, to silent auctions, to of course delicious food, it was fun for the whole family. All proceeds from this event benefited UAS Athletics. Elementary Atoms show off their school spirit as they celebrate Utica Academy of Science High School's first-ever Homecoming. Students partook in spirit week with various dress up days that were wacky, clever, and creative.

Homecoming Weekend Continues at the Welcome Back BBQ

Middle school hosts its Welcome Back BBQ where families could meet the teachers and students could sign up for clubs and activities

Saturday, September 21, 2019—Homecoming Weekend was in full swing as the middle school teachers, faculty and staff geared up for their Welcome Back BBQ. An afternoon filled with families meeting their students' teachers, and students having an opportunity to sign up for school clubs and activities. The Atoms team shared a labor of love and acts of service by not only preparing the lunches but serving them as well to the families and the community members. Story of the Day - Literacy Night was fun for the Family

Atoms and their families enjoyed an evening of literacy based activities, Scholastic Book Fair and Legos at the Utica Academy of Science Elementary School's Literacy Night

Wednesday, September 11, 2019—Reading is a novel idea and our Elementary Atoms shared their love for books, literature and even Legos with their family at our annual Literacy Night. Literacy-based activities were held in the classroom for families to enjoy. In addition, Utica Academy of Science Elementary School hosted a Scholastic Book Fair, where students perused timeless stories and books like If you Give a Mouse a Brownie. Not to mention, Atoms had an opportunity to sign up for our first-ever Lego League, Jr. team. Thank you to all the families who were able to attend. Homecoming 2019

Homecoming will be held on Friday, September 20th. Games will begin at 6:30 PM at HCCC

Friday, September 20, 2019—Ready. Set. GOAL! Homecoming will be taking place next week on Friday, September 20th. The first homecoming game will kick-off with Girls Varsity Soccer at 6:30 PM followed by Boys Varsity Soccer at 8:00 PM. Both games will be held at HCCC. In addition, each building will be showcasing and celebrating their Atoms spirit. Please see details below. Let's go Atoms!

Middle School
